Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a question, and the answer you’re looking for isn’t below, please feel free to contact me.

What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic enhancement that sees pigmentation of the dermis layer of the skin. A machine that is specifically designed for permanent makeup is used to implant ink into the skin. When done correctly, this creates natural enhanced results that can last up to 2 years.

What are the benefits of Permanent Makeup?

Literally, anyone can benefit from PMU. People have treatments for very different reasons.

It could be medical reasons, such as reduced eyesight or hand-eye co-ordination. It could be for practicality, time, money or purely to feel good about yourself. There is always a benefit of having permanent makeup. See the homepage for more reasons why PMU could be for you.

Does it last forever?

As the name might suggest, the answer to this is no. The pigment will breakdown over time so you can reshape, change colour and change style after 18 – 24 months. Permanent makeup can last anywhere between 2 – 5 years if you attend a yearly colour boost.

How much does it cost?

Prices can vary depending on the Technician; however, it is not sensible to choose your technician based on price. Choosing to pay less for treatment initially can actually cost you more in the long run if the treatment hasn’t been performed correctly and by a professional.

Does it hurt?

An comfort cream will be used to numb the treatment area. Most clients feel nothing other than a gentle tickling; others might feel slight discomfort. It isn’t uncommon for clients to have a little nap during their treatments!

How do I choose the right Technician for me?

Do your research! Check out their healed work, attend a consultation and ask plenty of questions. If you feel comfortable and happy, then you can go ahead and book.

Do I have to have a patch test?

Yes – it is in your best interests to prevent any possible reaction to the anaesthetic or pigment.

How long do treatments take?

Treatments usually take around 1-3 hours to ensure that I am satisfied and have taken the greatest care with your permanent makeup. Yearly colour boosts usually take around an hour to an hour and a half.

What will happen to my natural eyebrows?

Not much. We will work around the shape of your natural eyebrows to build the style that will suit your bone structure. Once healed you will be able to pluck, wax or thread as you would normally and use the tattoo line as your guide. Some clients do come back to tell me that their hair has grown back!

Do you offer post-treatment Aftercare Advice

Of course! After your treatment, we will discuss in length your aftercare and how you can ensure you have beautifully healed results.

Healing will usually take around 4-5 days but you should allow around 6 weeks to see the final healed result.

Sun exposure should be avoided for at least 7-10 days and a high factor sun cream should be used. Swimming, tanning beds, sauna’s and steam rooms should also be avoided initially. Please be aware of this prior to booking.
